If you’re healing from an injury, massage can support and speed up your recovery. Injuries often caused your body to compensate and tight muscles start to build up. Our general recommendation for massage frequency when you are recovering from an injury is one or two session per week. Your therapist may combine techniques like deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, myofascial release, or hot stone massage to speed up your recovery. The process of healing is faster when the surrounding soft tissues are flexible and healthy.
Prenatal massage supports the body through rapid physical changes. Pregnant women shouldn’t get massage in their first trimester. They can get massage in the second and third trimester with the doctor approval. Step above massage doesn’t have any recommendation for prenatal massage. Clients completely need to listen to their doctor recommendations.

Two hours massage is very beneficial, but it might be too long for clients who doesn’t receive massage in a regular basis. We suggest not to get two hours massage if you’re not receiving massage often.
Everyone need to get a massage in regular basis. You are the only one who can choose how frequent you need to receive a massage based on your lifestyle and physical activity. General recommendation for massage frequency is at least once a month. Step above massage suggest every client to try to receive a massage at least every four weeks.
If you’re pregnant, you cannot receive massage in first trimester. In second and third trimester, you need to consult with your doctor about your massage frequency.
